FASP is looking for committee members for five of our committees: Diversity & Social Justice, Mental Health & Crisis Intervention, Newsletter, Public Policy & Professional Relations, and Research.
2023-2024 Committee Members Wanted
Are you interested in serving as a Florida Association of School Psychologists committee member? We are looking for new leaders with diverse perspectives to help carry out FASP’s work!
Being a FASP committee member is a phenomenal way to develop and practice leadership skills, help FASP achieve its mission, and have an opportunity to network with colleagues from around the state.
We are currently looking for members for the following FASP committees:
- Diversity and Social Justice: promotes the rights, welfare, education and mental health of culturally and linguistically diverse children, youth and families in the State of Florida
- Mental Health & Crisis Intervention: promotes mental health and crisis intervention best practices to support Florida’s children and youth
- Newsletter: publishes the Florida School Psychologist, FASP’s official newsletter three times per year
- Public Policy & Professional Relations: develops strategies for coordinating and collaborating with other professional organizations, legislators, school districts, etc., and addresses key issues such as enhancing the future of the profession, training & supervision needs, licensure, credentialing, best practices, public policy concerns, etc.
- Research: submits relevant research reviews for the FASP newsletter and works with researchers interested in inviting FASP members to participate in their research

Volunteer Expectations
- Be members in good standing
- Respond to communication in a reasonable time frame, even if only to share that you are unavailable
- Maintain an open dialogue with the committee chair
- Complete agreed-upon assignments/tasks
- Serve as a positive role model and promote FASP membership
- Follow FASP bylaws, policies, and procedures
- Understand the strategic priorities of the organization
- Work independently and as a member of a team
- Participate in required meetings/events as applicable to the position
